Basic SEO?

What are all the things are called Basic SEO?

Keyword research, keyword density, on-page position of keywords, content quality, HTML correctness and cleanness, site speed, social interaction and human-readable content.

Also : site age and quality links. With age being very important these days as part of reputation or "authority".

I think this is the meat and potatoes of white hat SEO. Hope it helps.

In short:

Interlinked content backed up by sites (aka backlinks) pointing out to your content.

The higher the authority of the sites pointing out to your site, the better it will do in serps.

I think that would be on-page and some simple backlinks just to get things rolling.

Google for On page SEO, backlinking, link building....if possible check out some courses on lynda.com.

Basically, figure out what the niche of a website is, create some good quality content that users will benefit reading if they were looking for something within that niche.
Ensure that each of the pages and articles have header tags with the content in those tags.
The URLs should have the individual category for each niche within the niche you're planning on featuring. also the article name should have the long tail keyword in it so that it flows well for example www1.site.com/niche/long-article-name-about-your-article
Search for your keywords in Google and find a way to get a link from those top sites back to your articles you wrote. Increasing your domain authority and relevance to the industry.

Start with keyword research.

Then it's basic onsite SEO like
  • title tags
  • h1 tags
  • internal linking
  • Geo-targeting
Offsite SEO
  • Citations
  • Directories
  • Social media
