    I have a web site and I wish to change the text that appears on google search for my site.

    Basically how do I edit the tags or text that google picks up when my site appears on the search?

    For example, here

    Disney The official home for all things Disney

    Disney
    The official website for all things xxx theme parks, resorts, movies, tv programs, characters, games, videos, music, shopping, and more!

    Ideally I would change everything, the underlined link text and more importantly, the description text underneath the disney link

    How do i do this within dreamweaver etc, is there a simple guide?

    I looked myself but did not find exactly what i was looking for as do not know the exact terminology for this type of stuff. Is it called meta tags?

    Thanks for your time

    Add this between your <head></head> tags:

    Code:
    <title>Disney The official home for all things Disney</title>
    <meta name="description" content="Your description" />

    Try keep the title under 70 characters, and the description under 150-160 characters.

    And this also.

    Code:
    <meta name="keywords" content="YourKeywordsHere" />

    I would like to add one small note here. Page description should not be more than 155 words for best practice. Also, while writing description choose appealing words. It will incite visitor to your sites and that tends to increase your click through rate.

    It may take 2-4 days. Even in 1 day. It all depends up on how fast Google spider will crawls your site.

    Don't do this ^

    Google doesn't use Meta Keywords at all. It's just a waste of code, unless you're trying to rank in Bing.

    It can take a while, don't panic if it takes more than a few days. There are some things you can do that might influence your index time:

    I would advise that sometimes Google decides to use on page content instead of the meta descriptions, so for some searches you may never see it.
