Basic Second Journey

So I bought a domain for a site I wanted to create in anticipation of a major product coming out that will generate a lot of interest a couple months ago and never had the time to get it up until now. I estimate it will take another year or so before the product comes out, and there is virtually no competition out there yet. Of course, this is a simple and time limited venture so if I want to make money I had to get a jump on it now so it starts ranking.

Today I bought a cheap hosting package and launched a simple site with basic information to generate interest and with an email collection so when the product comes out I can send an email blast with my referral link . Took me about 4 hours to complete.

Next steps:
1. Launch a few Fiverr gigs to start building links and getting this site ranked.
2. Within the next few months, ensure I am on first few results for all major keywords relating to this product so when the launch is announced my site will be right there and will be seasoned compared to the newcomers (The main keyword right now gets 10k to 100k searches monthly).
3. When traffic and interest starts ramping up, I will throw up some Adsense ads before I can start selling products through referral links. I will be happy with an extra $100 of income a month from this site for now.
4. In the meantime, sit back and collect emails so I can send the email blast saying the page has been updated with ordering information.

Backlinks from Fiverr gigs will hurt your site. Better to order SEO service from BHW marketplace.

Not ranking for anything right now, just launced the site. Main keyword getting 10k-100k searches on Google. Long tails 100 - 1k currently, but volume will rise when product gains steam.

Good point, I guess it's better to play safe. Going to purchase links from the marketplace

So I just want to post a quick update. I realized I forgot to allow robots to crawl the site, so Google tried to crawl the site but there is no info available in results because robots.txt was blocked. Went on today and allowed robots.txt so hopefully in next couple days the site will be fully indexed.

Also found some interesting information, I checked awstats and it looks like I've had 26 visits from Google organic results in last couple days. Not really sure how or which keywords, but nonetheless very interesting since the site is not indexed. I went ahead and installed Google Analytics tracking so I can get some more detailed data.

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to post an update. All but one of the pages is indexed now on Google. One of the keywords that get about 500 searches currently is sitting on page 3 already. It looks like some of the links are starting to hit since Ahrefs is starting to pick them up. My URL ranking on Ahrefs is 7 and DR is .3, woohoo! lol. Anyway, stuff is moving and more is to come. Logging into WP now to type out a few articles for some more content big G can give love to.
