You are correct. The us media is so corrupt. All you hear is Obama Obama Obama..More than Marsha.

This shit is getting old fast.

I will vote for McCain

Great for some. Bad for others. Healthcare should not be a part of that. The idea of capitalism is great. Our version of it, is not. The idea of socialism is flawed, but capitalism with a dash of socialism can work. It just takes the right person, people, and implementation.

Personally, how intelligent can you be, if your best come back is to call someone stupid? Did they teach you that at Harvard? If I am so stupid, why are you wasting your time and superior intellect on me, and this message board?

In fact, you have been on this site since January, and you have not had any THANKS at all. Looks like you are just like the liberal welfare moms. Here for a free hand out. No one respects a person like you.

Give back to the community. Then be respected. Right now you are just a 200+ post blowhard.

You guys should be happy you dont have Gordon Brown running your country. I can only imagine what kind of mess that would create on such a scale.

At least Herr Brown can completerate a sentence without assasinizing the Inglish language.

:)

For me capitalism is the best. Socialism is very close to dictatorship.
In cuba people who give their 100% at work get pay the same as
the guy who is giving 30% that is very sad. If you can not afford health insurance, rent and a few bucks to go to at least Mcdonalds, then my friend go to a shelter and save some money. Sorry for being blunt but is true. America is really great, why? because people follow a system. So capitalism gives you the choice to make from 20grand a year all the way up to millions a year. There is no limit to your potential. Not the same story for socialism. I was homeless once here in america and i found shelter,3 meals a day, a bus pass to find work ,clothes and free clinic. Only in this country man and i saved like 4,000 before they let me go. So I was back on my feet and never been there again. I was homeless for being irresponsible and dumb. Yet the US gave me a helping hand.
As far as obama, i dont really trust the guy. I think there is more to his story than what we can see. I voted for Ron Paul and he wont win and it really hurt me. I love the guy and what he stands for.
CAPITALISM I LOVE ITTTTTTTTTTTT.......

I can see both sides of the argument. I agree with you about the lack of a limit with capitalism. My only problem is capitalism in the medical field. We all need affordable health care. Elective surgery is one thing, but basic health care, come on.

As far as Obama goes, I don't know what he will or won't be able to do. I think he is going to turn the welfare system upside down. I don't know how that will impact the country, but he seems to have a lot of angst when it comes to deadbeat dads and the like. Other than that, I have no clue.

I do know that I didn't like the Palin addition. It felt knee jerk. It seemed to be a response to Obama more than something needed.

Obama is young. Palin is younger
Obama winning would be historic. So would Palin.
Obama attacked the Repubs connection with Big Oil. Palin has been fighting it.

Bottom line, McCain Needs Palin. I am not so sure that America does.

Basically referring to the constitution, that piece of paper that is currently being torn to pieces.
We agree that it is being crapped on, my only disagreement is in seeing it as holding the actual values the country was founded on.

Don't get me wrong, I love this country as much as anyone can... I just do it without buying into the revisionist's fairy tale of how it began. The Constitution was political spin to get 2/3's of the population to fall in-line with the new government after England withdrew. Nothing more, and nothing less.

The ideas within it are great, they just weren't any more treasured by those who wrote them than they are by those who trash them today. It was politics and that game hasn't changed much in 232 years.

Yep and its also your constitutional right to minimize your taxes too, the supreme court told me that one. The wealthy are just smart enough to exercise that right and that's why they are wealthy.

People should just stop complaining about the rich wanting to pay single digit taxes and get with the program and learn how to legally do it themselves.
I wasn't fighting the rich vs. poor issue, just pointing out the actual motivations of the revolution. I really wasn't trying to make more than that of it.

Anyway, I only asked because I get curious when I hear terms like "values we were founded on"... we like to believe the spin we put on our own history and that cracks me up. It's like when people talk about 1950's America as though it were really Leave It To Beaver-Land.

The 50's stunk in America. We were bogged down in Korea, the cities were full of unemployed and homeless (called Hobos back then) and a huge percentage were WW II vets because Industry had become so automated to keep up with demand during the war that there was less labor needed after the war--and the decade ended with us taking our first steps into the Viet Nam quagmire.

Anyway, thanks for the reply, this thread has had some interesting thoughts presented.

Wow.. now this has turned in to quite the political debate.

I understand though personally if either win we're not going to improve much but if I have to choose, I would say Obama. As for Taxes.. pfft.. I know longer have to pay taxes for I am above the law! Just don't tell the IRS I said that.

Well to everyone trying to make money online say thank to
capitalism.

The internet under socialism would be impossible .

With socialism you get POORER !! Taxed and Taxed and Taxed ,Taxed and Taxed and Taxed ,Taxed and Taxed and Taxed ,Taxed and Taxed and Taxed ,Taxed and Taxed and Taxed ...

like my grandmother always said god gave obama the job to be the first black president i mean look at the way this guy wins contests its unexplainable he beat down one of the most powerful names in america the clitons now explaine that.

I agree with Smitty, that is why I don't vote. I think McCain deserves to be President because of what he's went through for this country, and the feeling I get is that McCain is going to win handily. But again I never vote on principle because the people who really run this country and most of the world aren't up for election.
"If voting changed anything they'd make it illegal."

HOW TO START EACH DAY WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK

1. Open a new file in your computer.

2. Name it 'Barack Obama'.

3. Send it to the Recycle Bin.

4. Empty the Recycle Bin.

5. Your PC will ask you: 'Do you really want to get rid of 'Barack Obama?'

6. Firmly Click....'Yes'

7. Doesn't that feel better?

GOOD - Tomorrow we'll do Nancy Pelosi!

Something to ponder:

James Cone first addressed this theology after Malcolm X's proclamation in the 1950's against Christianity as "a white man's religion".[18] Later, Cone indicated that Malcolm X was "not far wrong" in stating:[19]:
"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."[20]

Disappointing that Cone did not distance himself from this line of thinking.

It also happens to be the same theology that the church that Barack attended, subscribes to.........BLT.

It is hard for me to believe that anyone who has gone to said church for 20+ years does NOT have the same point of view.

Sure, he has a white VP candidate. Is that because he really likes the guy?

Anyway, Barack IS a gifted speaker. No doubt about it.

I could care less that he is black and white. His race is of no importance to me.

All in all, it will be McCain for me.

A woman Vice President does not bother me at all, either.

Capitalism is not the problem. Socialism sucks, period.

Anyway, this is getting interesting with the addition a female VP for the Republicans.....

we live under a dictatorship folks... if you believe otherwise you are fooling yourselves. If you honestly think the president of the united states thinks and acts for himself then wake up. every 4 years the people think they are voting for a new person, party, or ideology....but they are really all the same.

Looks like McCain is doing everything under the sun to help get Obama elected. Palin Who?
Neither one is worthy of President of the Glee club, let alone the USA. Biden is the only sane one in the group, and that, sadly isn't saying much.

I wholeheartedly disagree that McCain should win just because he was a POW. I mean, I appreciate his service and would never try to belittle what he went through, but I don't think it should be his magic ticket to a Presidency. I believe Obama can be a unifying president. It doesn't matter if he is young or inexperienced. That is why he has advisors. I think he will be a voice of reason and I'm excited about this race. I'm sick of seeing the White House as a platform for the current administration to build their fortunes. I truly don't think these are Obama's motives. But... I guess we'll see...

An Obamanation! I don't think so. First of all I don't care what color the President happens to be. purple, green, polka dotted, who cares?

Black people for the most part won't be voting based on issues that need to be addressed.
They'll vote for the black candidate regardless.

Ignorant white people will cast a vote for Obama because it makes them feel good to align themselves with the poor downtrodden black population who've been mistreated in this country for so long. Such bullshit.

Voting for Mccain, is just a vote for the status quot. more of the same B.S. we've had with Bush, Clinton, Bush. Man people got to be getting tired of waking up to "Groundhog Day" over and over again.

"We need a little good old fashioned Jeffersonian liberty tree refreshment, but we're not going to get it any time soon."

Exactly right, we need a new revolution.

Somebody with fresh ideas or just the guts to put "The Constitution" back into play.

The only candidate that has the balls to bring positive changes about in this country has been shut out of the debate by the media giants that want to control what people hear, see and read. Who is that you ask? Ron Paul

He's the only candidate who wants to get rid of "The American Gestapo". That 3 lettered agency that can take possession of your property with out due process.

He's the only one talking about bringing the troops home and stop the U.S. from being involved in wars in places we have no business being involved in. I'm sure a lot of countries really appreciate how we go around the world fighting the bad guys, spending ourselves into financial ruin just so the military industrial complex, Big Oil companies (who use any excuse to stick it to us run up the price of gas) and those who financially benefit from them line there pockets with profit at great cost to us and our children and their children.

It's going to take more than one man to turn this country around. Self government won't work without self discipline. Most people are so busy just trying to keep their heads above water financially they don't have time to get involved in politics.

That,s just what they want you to keep doing. Keep paying those taxes. Don't ask questions. Let them steal your SSI. Take 50% your income and give it to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Bear Sterns, all the banks that are failing and all their political chronies to bail their ass out because they got greedy. All the while letting banks lobby congress to change bankruptcy laws that used to protect average citizens.

Years before the looming unsecured credit crisis started to unfold the banks looked into their crystal ball, and knew exactly what was coming.

We need to stop being the world police. We can no longer afford to fight wars for other countries, especially when other countries who reap benefit from efforts are unwilling to help. Let those U.S. cowboy commandos come in carry out the trash while we watch, and criticize them so we can appear to be sympathetic with those radical Muslim asswipes.

I understand and appreciate how you feel Smitty. Most people are apathetic because they feel their vote doesn't mean much. After all, what's 1 vote gonna change, but one vote is one vote closer to change than no vote at all. In the end, it will probably be the few who are willing to stand up for the masses that won't that will effect the radical changes that need come about so that we can regain or retain our rights as individuals.

That's my rant. Now, back to reading about the Black Miss America pageant in Ebony, watching Black Entertainment TV, and filling out my donation form for the United Negro College Fund, and the N.A.A.C.P. Please support the R-e-v-e-r-e-n-d Jesse Jackson's Rainbow coalition, and sign up for the new "Million Man March" Don't forget to vote for the Reverend Al Sharpton and be sure watch the Black Entertainment Awards. Gotta go out and buy me some new F.U.B.U.(for us by us).

And, don't ever say the word "Nigger" again. Okra whoops Oprah don't like that word.

Give me a break!
