Hey guys.

Just a short rant before i go watch some Knight Rider / do Spanish homework.

If anyone plays any HL2 based games, you should have a general idea of what i'm saying.
Most servers use a "voteban" function to voteban members who people don't like.

I'm suggesting we do one of the sort.

WHY would i propose such a thing?

As I look through the forums, it's slowly becoming filled with spammers.

We could either embed the mod into the IRC channel (if its still up) or add something next to the user's profile.
Before finally recieving the ban hammer, a super mod or admin (EC, DD, HR, etc etc) has to finalize it to prevent people from spamming it.

Hmm thats not a bad idea. Of course we do have some good mods so they should catch the spammers.

i once got vote banned in counter strike server because my name was bit silly nothing against rules just silly

Why don't we try to make money instead? The staff has it under control, I bet you couldn't find one spam post as you typed this, thanks for caring though.

Thanks for the support guys.

Obviously we cannot be everywhere all the time, but the spam on this forum is more of a nuisance, than a security threat. Spammers that try to fool BH'ers will get nowhere fast.

If you see something out of place or against the rules, hit the REPORT button.

I am starting to notice a huge rise in the DP posts or the posts in general of people with less than 50 posts who are trying to sell things or just asking simply retarded things that are stated in the official forum rules.

if I catch them, I show them to the forum rules page and give them lessons reading but it's becoming a total nuisance. As the forum grows bigger and bigger, there will be more people coming in, the community needs to be more involved. Like I've stated in another thread, I think once a couple of more mods are brought in, that things might smooth out a bit.

Yeah the report button works wonders.

It would be cool to have a voteban feature that would at least add the shitbird to "coventry" (a place where only this user can see his posts, no one else), and report the user to the staff. We could then decide to remove them from coventry, ban them, or simply leave them there

I doubt we'll ever find such a thing, though.

That "tachy goes to coventry" is an evil yet hilarious tool. On a forum I moderate we put a guy in there for a week and he started going nuts thinking there was an organized conspiracy to ignore him.
