Hi people!

I woke up to an email from Google saying I was perminently suspended from Adwords for repeatedly violating their rules. I was selling hoodies online through affiliate marketing and the Adwords Advert pointed to the page with the affiliates on it. Is this a violation?

Yes it is. Did you read the TOS and rules of adsense before?

To be perfectly honest, no! Purely because I thought that they only disallowed adsense not affiliates. Bummer!

I used to PPC affiliate links and got a warning from G about it so discontinued the business model before they banned me. Basically, they do not like the Destination URLs to redirect through an affiliate link. If you were to create a landing page and the call-to-action button would then have an affiliate link on it, that would be fine. Adwords could point to your LP in that case but redirecting directly to the Merchant you are an affiliate of is not what they want.

bing is not as powerful in ads as google.

IMHO, you need to get another adsense acc and of course you should remove all the tos violations.

Cheers guys,

The landing page had all the products on from all the companies I was promoting but no user friendly stuff (What Size / What Colour/) which I guess was the reason...

If I remove all violations and contact them will they reason with me or is this usually a lifetime thing?

I encountered the same thing myself. Since I decided against using Adwords afterwards, I never really tried to discover the reason(s) why theybanned my account. However, I did try to contact Google about it -- received an extremely vague and general reply that didn't answer my inquiry at all.

To be perfectly honest, no!

That's the number one mistake people make in using Adwords: they don't read the rules or try to understand them. Not getting banned is so easy to avoid when you do know them.
