I was wondering if this would be a good idea to have. Have a forum or subsection (perhaps a subforum of the shit list) of recently baned people, and their reason as to why. even just a sticky thread somewhere. Because sometimes I se people that I thought were useful here that are banned. Or someone could be in a business deal with someone, and see them banned and wonder why and wonder if they should be doing business with them.

for example, just the latest ive seen (dont know him and dont have any contact with) riolas was banned, he recently posted in the AC forum and then a download forum and provided stuff. Last post I see of him his just answering something or other, then banned. not sure why.

Just thought this could be useful to know why people are banned. poll maybe? sure.

agreed. Some information about the reason why that people get banned will be essential.

There is lots of reasons here why people get banned, it its all to protect forum users and keep forum clean. Its for the good, part of the reason this forum is so good is because of this

If you want to know the reasons why people get banned read the forum rules

If you want to know something about another user, just do a "search by username". This will give you all the info you need to know about said person just by clicking on their user profile.

As for posting public info about why someone was banned, that's probably not going to happen. Sometimes we need to keep that information private. If you really want to know why someone was banned, just contact a staff member and explain why.

Seriously...why do we need to know? It's frankly none of our business and we should be worrying more about ourselves, our business and our making money. If someone is banned that you are doing business with, I'm sure the mods would help you out and let you know if you should be worried about it. This forum isn't a gossip forum and things need to be on a "need to know" basis....and we don't need to know...

I think the reasoning was that many people here use other forums other than BHW and don't want to be burned by them on another forum (if they were banned for scamming here)...not for gossiping purposes. That being said, Clix offered an easy solution. If the inquiry is legit, I am sure someone would get an answer about the banning.

well thats what Im saying, I did that, but the last post or example that guy had was just on a download he provided, so it doesnt give much info. I dont really care about him per say, but i remember awhile back cash corp(s) was banned, i dunno if he still is, I had no idea why, and i remember he provided a good amount of info, never found out why he was banned. If I knew it was just something dumb or mild, like flaming, then I wouldnt care in the future, but if it was for scamming id like to know so in the future if said user ever comes back or whatever I dont 'give him another chance' or whatever.
So then maybe this is a new good idea. make a thread for official scammers. I guess the shit list is there, but its usually members posting and then maybe maybe not the scammer gets banned.

waste of space on the website, last thing we need, IMO i think its f'n retarded

Yeah... considering the great number of people getting banned here, not to mention those with cumulative infractions, it will be an extra pain in the ass to make threads explaining all of this.

I agree the mods have more than enough to deal with let alone manage another area

Just concentrate your time and efforts on making money.. In the end, you will find that there is really no time left to worry about why someone was banned, unless of course it was you.

I will admit, I was curious about one person in particular, but like Essential pointed out. You can send one of the Mods a PM.. Rest assured, if you see someone banned, it was most likely in the best interest of the community.

On a second note, I think our infractions of yesteryear should be erased-- Seriously why bring up old shit :)

A sticky thread in Shit List is a good idea. Not for everyone who gets banned (definitely not the newbies) but for long-time members who turn out to be scammers, yeah the rest of us should definitely get warned about it.

Can keep it locked so only mods can post (so it doesn't turn into a debate), but giving us a heads-up about the most egregious offenders would be a good thing.

I appreciate that staff will answer PMs about it, though... that will probably have to do.

I agree that listing banned members is too much of a pain to bother with. And who needs to feed food-fight junkies anyway?

But not all banned people are created equal. Some posters, whether banned or not, should receive a bit of attention to counter their bad effect or get the bad taste out of people's mouths.

So here's a thought for some really troublesome cases.

I own a forum and I have a section called The Garbage Dump (not those exact words, but something very similar). When a poster gets really obnoxious, I simply move his more obnoxious posts (or spammy ones, or snarky ones, or things like that) to the The Garbage Dump. The other posters then have a field day with them.

I have cut down on obnoxious posts by about 80% this way. Nobody wants to end up in a place like that, so, after complaining bitterly for a bit, they usually just stop.

I know I should not get pleasure from humiliating people, even bad people, but throwing online garbage into a garbage dump feels really good. It's actually quite a rush at times...
