I am banned on a site, I changed my IP on my router, and was still banned. I tried a proxy server, and it's still banned.
How is it still being applied? How do I get around it?

Clear browser cache and cookies...

Get Windows & Internet Cleaner or some similar software set it to the highest cleanup level possible, clean everything restart your router again and you're done.

CCleaner - it's free, make sure you clear your cookies between logins

Make sure you don't enter any info that was related with your ban. Change ip and clear all browser data with ccleaner. Also install betterprivacy (if you use firefox) to clear flash cookies. Completely changing the browser might also help, using chrome instead of ff, or opposite, but after doing the first steps.

Your IP is banned or your account is ban ?

IMO your IP is banned .. Try contacting site admin via contact us if its opening

They may have banned your ip range. Try proxy.

Also run in private browsing will clean your cookies also.

I tried using Tor Browser, which I would think wouldn't use any of my computer cookies, or anything related.
That's what I don't understand.

Try using some different browser or user account and make sure to delete all cookies and cache files using CCleaner and that should do the job. Also make sure to check the new IP using whatsmyip to ensure that you actually have got a new working IP.

Try signing up on a friend's computer. Then go to the account using new browser (Opera, Safari, etc) after running cleaner, etc.

Thanks. Trying that. Overwriting my drive right now, going to take 10 hours lol.
But I think it finished all the other things, and still can't access.
I will wait until it's done though.
There might be a small chance it's a site error, though others are posting, so probably not...
however, I don't see how I could still be banned with everything clean and Tor browser.

use virtualbox/use new ip
and you are golden

There's a possibility that the site blocks tor - lists of tor exit nodes are freely available. Try with some private or free anonymous proxies (with cleared cookies and flash cookies of course). Reformatting your HD was probably overkill.

No no didn't reformat, I think it just cleaned unused files, then overwrite it so could never be recovered. That wasn't needed either obviously, but it did it automatically.

try another pc.

Some sites (smart sites) ban your actual computer via your MAC address.

I changed last digit of my mac address in my router. Wouldn't that work?

You are HWID-banned. At least what I think.

You must really like this site. I bet its something silly... "How did you change your IP on the router?" You physically released and renewed to your provider AND it's a physically different IP? (Double check cuz I bet that didnt happen)... after that step "didn't happen" you probably attempted a transparent proxy which still indeed shows your IP address... (which was never really changed).
