Wassup world.

so i got my IP address(im assuming, since i cant sign in or re-register) banned from TPB...

any ideas on what i can do?

i dont have a clue about proxies or ip switching. can someone throw me a bone?

not asking for hand outs, just alittle nudge.

I'm running a macbook, and i think many proxy software are made for the windows OS...

What type of internet connection do you have? You can generally hard-reset a cable/dsl modem to get a new IP address.

i have a cable connection through charter.

good idea on the hard reset.

gonna try it and see if i can re-register.

thanks for the input.

I've got charter cable I can never seem to get a new IP with a hard reset. I've called tech support on this because I ended up with a banned IP from a previous user.

Lemme know if you get anywhere with this.

Here's another way to change your ip:

1. Click on "Start" in the bottom left hand corner of screen
2. Click on "Run"
3. Type in "command" and hit ok

You should now be at an MS DOS prompt screen.

4. Type "ipconfig /release" just like that, and hit "enter"
5. Type "exit" and leave the prompt
6. Right-click on "Network Places" or "My Network Places" on your desktop.
7. Click on "properties"

You should now be on a screen with something titled "Local Area Connection", or something close to that, and, if you have a network hooked up, all of your other networks.

8. Right click on "Local Area Connection" and click "properties"
9. Double-click on the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" from the list under the "General" tab
10. Click on "Use the following IP address" under the "General" tab
11. Create an IP address (It doesn't matter what it is. I just type 1 and 2 until i fill the area up).
12. Press "Tab" and it should automatically fill in the "Subnet Mask" section with default numbers.
13. Hit the "Ok" button here
14. Hit the "Ok" button again

You should now be back to the "Local Area Connection" screen.

15. Right-click back on "Local Area Connection" and go to properties again.
16. Go back to the "TCP/IP" settings
17. This time, select "Obtain an IP address automatically"
18. Hit "Ok"
19. Hit "Ok" again
You now have a new IP address

I thought Makoto and I had Mac's. We've got a terminal app we can run which gets us into Unix.

LMFAO. I got to reading everything in the thread and forgot you guys were MAC users, hence the title of the thread. That method only works for PC's obviously.

If you go with the proxy route, you can set that up in your browser.

In Firefox: Tools>Options>Advanced>Network>Connection Settings
You can also get some extensions that allow you to connect through proxies.

A google search will find you a bunch of free proxies.

Keep in mind this is just for web. If you got banned by the tracker, you'll need to input proxy settings into your torrent client too.

You have to switch your IP.

I can sell you accounts to TPB if you want.
