Banned from Amazon. What Affiliate System Should I use Now?

Ok sure thing :) I think they're starting to do better with those things as they have their own marketplace like amazon, it's not just used goods like it used to be >.<
There are a lot of the same sellers on there, they use both. They have the same goods

I'd say to look at ebay too, bit importantly what caused your Amazon account to get banned ?

I just got myself banned from Amazon (right on payout day - what a coincidence) and I have lost a substantial amount of money. I'm not going to start cryng or attributing blame, what's done is done. Time to move on.

I run a Science Fiction fan site, so my question is: what affiliate sytem should I use now? I'd be most grateful for any ideas you may have.

Kind regards,

James :)
Your niche is perfect for this, if you need any help let me know

+1 to ban reason request.
I'm just starting the Amazon associates signup process (they have some error with phone verification, common error as I figured). It's not like it's hard to imagine what should one do to get banned, but it's rather interesting why they hit you considering your niche, which sounds pretty white.

The "standard" Amazon ban is usually due to some type of "price" issue. I NEVER put prices on anything anymore. Not worth it to me. Don't know what happened here but like the rest of you would like to know.

eBay is a good one but I would also check out viglinks to affiliate items that you cannot get directly into their affiliate program (including Amazon). For me, it gives me flexibility without having to apply to a gazillon affiliate programs.

For those reading along who aren't familiar with Amazon affiliates, they will approve you and then once you make a sale they review the website and can/will pull the plug at that point. Reasons include pricing placed on website, poorly designed website, website stuffed with affiliate links, website with no value, etc..

I have an Amazon affiliate account and no website right now so I just use the FB and Twitter links provided in the earnings stripe in order to keep my account active for when I might need it.

You can use prices if they are checked every 5 mins or so using cron, easyazon does that

Ok, I can understand the "wrong prices" thing, but what does "site with no value" stands for? You can describe 70% of web sites in the Internet in this way. If you leading customers to them without lying about product specs, why should they even care?

It generally means sites without good quality content, amazon doesn't want their name associated with rubbish websites

The reason I haven't disclosed why I was banned is because it involves the use of a plugin I bought from a seller here on BHW. It's nothing to do with prices or shit content. I work hard at bringing my readers quality content on a daily basis. I'm not sure if I will be banned for mentioning it, but at the same time, I don't want any of you guys to suffer a loss as I have.

Just lay it out there man. I don't think you're going to get banned for it. Plenty of people have made comments about stuff sold on BHW. Nothing wrong with telling the truth and yes, it let's the rest of us know that X or Y "could" be an issue for us. Please lay it out there.

Maybe not a good idea, as it might not work for one but work for others

OK, well here goes. I was banned for the use of the Zero Bounce plugin. I'm not saying the seller ever said it was Amazon safe btw, but it was said that no one has complained about that particular issue.

Thanks for sharing. I'm aware of the plugin too.

They specifically told you it was for redirecting? Someone must have actually complained about it or a competitor nailed you. That sucks. Sorry to hear it.

I was thinking it was a competitor too. I'll never know for sure.

It was definitely for redirecting...

"Your Associates account has come up for review in connection with our ongoing monitoring of the Amazon Associates Program. During our review, we have determined that you are not in compliance with the Operating Agreement that governs your participation in the Associates Program and your Associates Program account has been closed. You will not receive further payment of advertising fees.

You are not in compliance with Operating Agreement Section 7 because you are sending users directly to the Amazon Site when they push the back button from your website".

Thanks man. I feel preety shitty mentioning the plugin. The guys has always been cool with me, but I guess people should know if it might cause them a problem with Amazon.

Sorry to hear about you being banned.

Anyone that is new and planning on using Amazon Associates, please take warning from this thread. Do not do anything dumb on your site or Amazon will ban you! Make a legitimate looking site that actually gives value to your readers. Do not mention price (use Amazon API if you must have it!), do not use customer's review photos/videos, and for the love of God, do NOT cloak your links! Your customer MUST know that they are being directed to Amazon (either by having a button that says something like 'Check Price on Amazon' or a clear-cut Amazon link saying 'Check Latest Price').

Amazon does not forgive. Amazon does not forget.

Hey James, can't you open a new amazon account? Are you banned forever?

Also, will they send you a last check?
