Banned By Paypal?

Offering SEO or IM services and suddenly wake up to find an email from Paypal advising you that you are no longer allowed an account and they're holding your funds for 180 days and you have no idea why?

It's happened to a few SEO guys I know this past 12 months, myself included. I think too that @Stan Fox might have been caught out by them too?
In my case it was an email notifying me they had closed my fully verified business account and locked £30k+ away for 180 days. They also locked and closed my 2004 personal account and locked my funds in there away too.

Seems these bans are not related to what you are selling, more often it's related to WHO you are selling to. Seems to deal with clients who are selling SMM services which PP considers illegal, which means that they consider you to be breaching their T&Cs too.

So basically, you are responsible for your client's activities... So be careful... If you deal with a lot of peoples over Paypal... This thing could also happen to you... Even if you have no idea what your payers are doing.

Where does this stupidity end? You have a client who sells firearms, someone buys a gun and shoots someone... PP going to blame you too?

Their lack of transparency matches their arrogance = fucking overwhelming. They have still to give me a valid reason why they closed the account. They have yet to release any funds back to me, looks like it'll all come on the 181st day.

They almost screwed up our event business years back when they locked the account with £120k in there, preventing us from paying the hotel and conference centre etc. I hated them ever since for doing that, thus we only went with them again because market research showed buyers like using their platform.

If you are using these cowboys, remove your balance daily and don't be stunned if they fuck you over too without good reason or warning.

They are getting worse. Got 1.5k$ stuck for 180 days. After 180 days funds got transferred to paypal because I did monetary damage to them (There opinion) LOL.

There is chance that it can happen to you too or maybe not.

Yeah, there needs to become a new norm for payments online. Crypto could be good, but bitcoin transaction fees are too much.

Had an employee in the US sign up to PayPal (because at the time we were doing all business on PP) and gave her such a hard time with limitations, getting payments. Numerous calls on the phone. Then we had everything cleared and had 2 payments go through fine. Then, not even 2 weeks in, they outright ban her account.

A joke company.

Where are all the people that always pop up in threads like this talking about "Paypal wont suspend you if you dont do anything wrong?"

Where are you? I cant see you.

I got an account suspended 2,5 months ago with $2.000. I refunded it all to various customers and got paid vis other means.

5 days ago my new account got suspended, with about $1.500 in it. I dont even wanna bother with refunds, whatever happens in 6 months i dont care.

Yesterday a client of mine contacted me and said he lost his gaypal account, suspended. He didnt pay me with paypal, so it had nothing to do with me.

But anyway, paypal sucks and in all honesty youre better off using other companies, eben for paypal payments (2checkout, paddle, etc).

Perfectmoney and crypto make me feel best. Payoneer and transferwise are wonderful. Gaypal sucks.

I thought I am the only one so not posted and created a new account
guys please start a world wide twitter trend to ban paypal all over the world for banning our accounts can't we do this
they will be on the right track.

Mods if this post is against rule change it as you want , but it is out of pain for money that stuck.
I have tweeted to PM of India for banning them in India and I will keep poking if they don't get my account active

They did this to me a few years back, they claimed it was their "Anti-money laundering system"

I was like "Right... so what your telling me is, not to use paypal for large sums of money?"

Literally the only thing I could get out of them was "Sir pls understand it's our Anti-money laundering system and we have no control over it" it was like they was reading from a script.

It reminds me of banks, they tell you to call them to find out more about an unknown transaction, you ring them and they read out exactly what you can see on your app and then have the cheek to say "did that help?"

And your sat there thinking "The only time that would of ever been helpful, was if I lost both my eyeballs and amazon alexa told me to ring you for help on a transaction"

Can't BHW create its own payment processor, we seriously need someone new in market. And deals are really big so it would be profitable. In addition to this free marketing.

I think is better to educate these days our customers to use TransferWise, is easy to use it, have google login/signup and low fee's. They don't have any payment gateway solution but there is one semi-automatic solution (the sender receive an email notification with an ID Transaction, you got also an email with the same ID Transaction and Amount and you can add these values to your database and customer must use this Transaction Code to purchase/top up....like a voucher.)

I read few days back that PayPal don't allow selling backlinks. I don't remember where but i recall reading it.

They are idiots, they allow selling of Escort services, pharma but they can allow one bank card other bank account. All who are worrying just change phone number and create accounts you will not be banned. With a different bank account this time use it for good services.

I don't use PayPal. So I don't care if my customers won't buy anything from me. Skrill, Neteller, Payeer, Cryptocurrencies, Payoneer, Credit / debit card payment. I offer many different payment methods.
What payment gateway you're using to accept credit card payments?

Can you tell me what they do allow? Something digital, that they do allow?

Also stripe don't allow selling physical products outside India ( dropshipping etc) even for business account and what's customers to fill address too for digital product not just credit details which is so crazy. Why you need address for digital product and services.

You can sell seo services, except backlinks.

Stripe
2Checkout
WorldPay
Payoneer.

Crypto is another option but it's up and down like a whores drawers at the moment, so what you think you're getting for $500 could be worth $750 or $250 overnight.
*Payoneer is not a payment gateway

After 2 years, now I know why my account got banned!
Thank you for the great info, will keep that in mind.

PayPal is a scam scheme, take this or don’t.
Uncounted accounts are block daily/yearly and many got limited for slight things.
But some times PayPal is nice they will give full service to the account you have no hope on,that happened sometimes.
I totally agree, these guys are going to earn money out of our and many other folks hard earned money. They are just going to get interest for money for these 180 days. I have plans to sue them for this scam, they are just covering the scam under policies tab.

I feel you bro... hope they will give you the funds back soon.

Tip:
Spread your sales across multiple accounts.
They don't like high $ volume of digital services / goods.

It's not a matter of if PayPal will screw you, but WHEN.

Any B2B I do with my clients is paid out using old fashion checks.

I'd say you should use 2checkout, they have PayPal payment and credit card, only that funds are held for like 14 days, and 2checkout won't blame you for your customers mistake, when they detect suspecious payment, they simply ask your customer their ID.
But you need a registered business to open an account, I'm sure you do
