Hey, i received a warning from a friend....just thought i'd pass it on
A friend received a notice with his credit card statement that stated that because to the sluggish economy, they were was raising her interest rate from around 3% to 19% per year.
The notice said that he could ?opt out? and not be charged the higher rate; however, there were conditions (see the following general conditions)
He had 15 days to respond to ?opt-out? to cancel his credit card and pay off the balance over time at the 3% annual interest
He had to cancel all recurring/automatic charges to the credit card or he would automatically be charge the 19% interest on the remaining balance until he pay it off
If he didn?t ?opt-out? and incur new charges, the 19% annual interest would automatically take affect
I never ever use credit cards...but i know a lot of people do. This isn't meant to be a political thread, just a warning for those of you that use Ccards....make sure you know what?s happening with your credit card and if you receive some mailings with fine print, take the time to read them. Otherwise, you might get an unwelcomed surprise credit card rate increase, if you don?t.
