Ok,

So I need to start ranking some sites on China's most popular search engine Baidu and I understand it very different from G.

Can anyone offer me any advice as to what the differences are?

From another thread I posted in:

Baidu is fucking weird man.

Paid results can appear in organic rankings, for one. To rank there, I hope you've got a big budget or a lot of automated ranking tools. You can spam the shit out of your site in Baidu (because everyone else is) and I hope you're prepared to pay for a lot of high PR/homepage links.

Without a Chinese IP, you're pretty gimped with Baidu and will always be seen as kind of a second class citizen with it. Don't even think about doing PPC in Baidu either, as you'll need a Chinese IP and a Chinese bank account/company holding address to do so.

To the person asking about Japan - you're right, Yahoo is still pretty big there. The thing is though is that Yahoo Japan actually 'leases' the Google algorithm from Google. The algorithm is slightly different, but effectively the same - so if you can rank on one, you can rank on the other and pretty much get exposure across all of the organic searches.

Hey if you are looking for someone that has worked in the baidu seo world for a while pm me

I think they are easier then google cause there is less sand boxing lol :)

I tried to PM you @Medic873 but you are over your storage limit.
