I recently installed a new plugin on a Wordpress site and the site went down. I restored the site from a backup and everything was working fine and then it went down again. So, I repeated and tried the plugin again. Sounds stupid right?

Well, this plugin is pretty awesome for my niche and supposedly was built by someone who can be trusted. Anyways, how do you tell if the plugin has a security whole? How do you tell if the plugin is the culprit? I ask because there are a couple other plugins I installed at the same time.

There is really no way of telling by the information you provided, what do you mean it just "went down"? Sounds like a hosting issue unless you broke the theme somehow while making changes or activating the plugin.

The site shows totally white. It's not the hosting as there are other sites on it. The weird thing is this. I installed it on two separate client sites. I changed the password and removed the plugin on the first site, so tonight the other client site went down with the same issue.

you may install firewall plugins and bulletproof plugin to increase your security site.
and i'm only install plugins who recommended by expert user (i found them at forums).

wish it help.
