I had paid a company to develop a website on my clients behalf.
Only a basic , website. They have taken over six months To finish the website. Its still not complete. Their last draft or proof has fundemental text errors, Pictures bleed in to photos, spaces typos and they are efusing to complete the website. They are refusing to complete or work any further on the website. I have had to pay someone else to complete the work, Would you suggest trying to recoup the money from the company that orginally put this together.

well that is a question you should really answer =/
depends on how much money was invested with them and why would you give your clients site to a company that you havent used in the past or worked with before :P bad idea

Its always wise to pay in parts after looking at the work done. Did you use paypal or any other mode of payment?

Is the company a reputable service? The reason I'm asking is unfortunetly folk like yourself are usually enticed by cheap rates ideal for outsourcing work, only these so called companies fail to deliver on time, if at all.

be careful web workers mostly claim better than they are expecting you to be a newby, and they tend to work with multiple clients.

At least write a bad review about this company, 6 months is a crazy long term

What was the method of payment? I hope it was escrow.com then paypal. Cause they hold the money until your approval of product/service.

If anything, I would try to report it on ripoffreport.com, then file a small claims if they are not out of the country.

Why dont you try a freelancer to get your work done?

Seriously, you should be able to handle whatever you take on yourself without needing the help of others. The owner should know how to do everything, thats why being in charge isn't easy. Six months is a JOKE!!! 6 days is should all it takes unless their doing something real special and most are not doing anything special at all...

I hate to say it so bluntly but you got fucked. Try to salvage your business relationship with your customer and move on.

Yes I know, was a company my company was working with at the time. Its more reputation. Money was paid direct via bank transfer. It wasnt a company based over seas but one based in the uk. Sent the final proof over Friday its a disaster zone will pay someone else to set it right
