Hi guys, i've a big prolem with VirtualBox with backtrack!
My wifi doesn't work.. Look:
Try to install it on Vmware, there are plenty of tutorials on youtube and hackforums.
Are you using your wifi inside your host OS? Try disable it in the host, and probably you can use it in the guest then.
still not work..
Can't understand your language but why don't you just download it on a CD or an USB memory stick and use it as a live CD.
i think ,u should turn off in windows ,then it might work
go to backtrack forum or google ,there are lots of method
Btw virtual box is Better (Vmware is a$$h0le taking up memory even if u rnt using)
ok, well can i create a bootable usb with backtrack ?
and how to create a dualbootable pc? (windows 7 - backtrack ) ?
I've had this problem before, and the only solution will be to install backtrack directly onto your computer. I'd advise you use unetbootin since it simplifies the install.
What causes the problem is the way VMware is set up. Basically all your hardware is virtualized, and because of this, Backtrack won't be able to "see" your wireless card.
I see that you're trying to use airmon-ng, so i assume you're trying to use aircrack. The only way you can use that properly is if you can set the wifi card to monitor mode, and the only way to do this is to have "real" hardware, and install it directly onto your system.
However, if you're just trying to browse the web, then you can install the drivers that virtualize the hardware onto your system. I think there should be a popup in vmware asking to install some host driver, or something like that.
Hope that helps.
Ok guys thanks for the replies, i decided to do a dual boot on my pc! Is ok this tutorial? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn6kzxuzreM
Use UnetBootin <- google that.
but this is for an usb, is true?
You can install it straight onto your harddrive. Google how to do it lol
LOL, i'm following this tutorial: http://www.backtrack-linux.org/tutorials/dual-boot-install/
if u are not perfect dont go with dual boot
if u didnt get internet in BT ... u should connect to windows and then should check for the problems
try to install it through vmware ..
i would not have vmware, i hate it..
i want to resolve my problem of the thread.. can you help me? (with teamviewer?)
