Somewhere on this forum I saw a recommendation for www. caught .co.uk
for backordering expired domains.
My experience with this company has not been good. The domain I backordered was not in a particularly competitive niche so I just used the service for piece of mind.
The day came when I expected to get my domain and nothing was showing in my account. The following day it appeared in whois that someone called Norman not linked to any company had registered the domain.
A few days later the domain was sold to one of my competitors. I don't think anyone would have known about this domain apart from me and 'caught'. I emailed the 'caught' and asked what happened but no reply.
I have now emailed them about 3 times with absolutely no response in the last 2 months.
This is my first experience of a backordering company and will be my last.
I am certain if I had not backordered this domain I could have just registered it myself on the day.
Lesson learned.
