Yup I am thinking to have just 2 main threads in the forum

1) A Closed thread that only me and staff can post too and where we post weekly/daily tutorials tips etc
2) A services thread where link providers can list their service (which must be a unique offering to backlinksforum e.g more links, lower price etc)

I am more interested in knowing how much did you pay for it? Also did the entire archive came with it ?

It does not matter how much I paid for it, what matters is what we do with it

No it did not come with the archive - I believe TrafficPlanet have that

In order to have a marketplace you need active members who are willing to buy and sell. So you might want to focus on growing the forum first and getting a few hundred active members beforehand.

No it did not come with the archive - I believe TrafficPlanet have that

If you have the advertising budget and bring the providers and buyers to the site, then surely the domain is worth giving it a try.

to suceed you need an interactive community that is different than the rest of the forums. You will have to make at least 10 informative posts a day and blog 5 in depth articles on link building. This is extremely difficult to get off the ground but if you the above for 100 days in a row I guarantee you will start to generate some traffic and users. From there ramp it up for another 200 days. For the last 65 days of the year hire more help to build great content, hire moderators that get paid and have to make well thought out posts.

After a year you should have a nice forum running again that is the target of MC's eye with a name like BLforum. Did Terry sell you the domain?

Ye it will be hard thats why I am thinking to instead do half blog/half forum powered by wordpress of course so its down to me to put decent content up that attracts users.

No I do not think Terry ever had this domain as Tom did, thats why he opened trafficplanet
