I am a bit of a newbie and have been going crazy reading this site. I read a thread about creating a blog and getting backlinks to advertise dentists. My question is how could I do this myself without buying a 200 backlink package. I would prefer to put in the work myself as to increase profit. All are more than welcome to PM or whatever.

Simple you manually post comments on blogs, and post a link to your site. Or you can make a one time investment and buy a program to do so. I'll hesitate to pick one, but you can surely find reviews for the best ones here.

The program you are looking for is called Scrapebox, it does have a learning curve however.

Honestly, doing the backlinking yourself is a lot better. Sure you can buy the backlinks but you can never guaranteed that they will be high quality, and you also save money. Like someone mentioned above, just post comments on related blogs and forums with your site URL. Try going for less number of backlinks on higher quality blogs rather than more number of backlinks on lower quality blogs.

There are other programs than scrapebox as well. Free versions that do similar things too. Also, you could always go on fiverr or a similar site and hire someone cheaply to do it for you as well.

You can manually create articles and post to many pages, there are lots of quality web 2.0 properties you can also use, manually blog commenting can be really effective. Create many blogs on similar topic and interlink them too

You manually write your website, on other websites and blogs, linking back to you ( backlink) and traffic will generally come in

Xrumer, scrapebox, or senukeX will do well for your tasks.
