Backlinks + youtube???

I'd like an expert's opinion on this subject because most people giving advice probably haven't ranked a youtube video in their life.

1. I always hear people saying to build backlinks to your video so it will rank higher on youtube search. After analyzing some of the top ranking videos in competitive niches, I realize that these have 0 or very few backlinks. So is it really true that backlinks help your video rank higher? I have a feeling that backlinks will even harm your video if it is new.

2. Has anyone tried building high PR links to their youtube channel? Technically, your channel should pass link juice to your videos so I'm wondering whether this works or not. I doubt many people have tried this, but if no-one can answer then I'll have to try for myself and I'll leave the results here.

Backlinks do help in ranking in youtube. I have ranked many videos on yt with gsa and crappy links. If niche is tough, you can build high quality links and it will rank. YT counts backlink as popularity indicator.

On second part, i never tried backlinking the channel, so i can't say anything on that. Theoretically it should work.
 
1. If the video in the competitive niche doesn't have back links, that means they have good ON-PAGE SEO optimization.

2. Trying yourself is always the best thing. In my opinion, if you build backlinks to your video, it ranks well in Google search.

Always remember, don't spam your YouTube video link, just do aggressive Social Bookmarking, that's more than enough.

Really? You're the first person I've seen who's said backlinks actually help rank your video in the Youtube SERPs, as well as the Google ones...
 
I am doing some experiment with my youtube videos.

Before this, I am just did spamming method (mass uploading thousand videos everyday).

The best result for me is makes your video look likes viral video. Using facebook, digg, twitter and so on.

The way I did it was:

0) Upload a video to youtube account.
1) At morning - Post a video (thread) at a large forum with some explanation.
2) Index that forum thread.
3) After 2 hours - Post status update (fb), page updates, digg and twit it (Around 5-10 shares).
4) After 4 hours - Increase the updates amount shares.
5) After 7 hours - Check your video ranking, if still not anywhere at first page makes more update shares.
6) Modify the hours and shares amount to your need.

I am doing this manually, so really time consuming. If you have a bot its better.

Remember to do good on page optimization with your youtube video.

p/s: send HR view to your videos. View counts help the video ranking in YT serps.

my opinion as well ... i add die viedos to GSA but for you tube ranking i doubt you need them.
this i do for ranking in google
 
I think because of Yotubes authority you can probably blast the shit out of your video with any backlinks and rank it.Or go for quality links which will take less links but harder to do.

Will it rank if you blast backlinks directly to the link of the video ? or make a blog , embed the video and blast crapload of links ?
 
wow some decent suggestions on this page :)

If I create a video and go tothe fiverr and purchase the social book making and FB shares and likes and youtube HR views, that should be more than enough to rank it, right??

I would probably think that it's towards the video directly.
