Backlinks with no ssl/https

From what i know, they are not bad nor affect you in a negative way. There might be people who have a different opinion though
 
If the backlinks are coming from websites that process personal data (e.g. ecommerce sites) they are usually considered as low quality.
 
I don't find it reasonable to expect links made over the last 20+ years to go back and be updated to https. I would like to think that Google thinks that way too. I have a mix of http and https links built over the last 22 years for my site, many of which I have zero control over and some of which no longer exist (but Google still shows them).

With that said, any links built/obtained since the changeover to https should all be made to the new address.
 
I have seen tons of incredible websites without SSL, so no?
 
If you search Google you see most of the websites ranking for tons of keywords with having backlinks with no ssl/https
 
No they are not bad... Most of the sites you see will lack ssl. It is good to have ssl and it could influence the reliability of the site in the eyes of google.
 
SSL/https increases the trust and ranking of your site. Better you should avoid backlinks without SSL/https.
 
They also may be used for diversification in low quantities.

Pretty much what @Meddie said. In my previous post I didn't explain properly.

If a website process personal/sensitive data and it does not have a proper SSL certificate, it will be considered low quality thus the outbound backlinks will be also considered as low quality.

I know this from a client that implemented an ecommerce (with offline payments) to a website that was not selling anything until then.
After a week his rankings went down for about 20%.
 
Why would any site which has quality backlinks have HTTP? Pretty unlikely today. So any that you find are likely to not actually be quality or do anything for your rankings.

*Lower quality. That doesn't mean they are useless.
