Been trying to discern which is more important.

Is there a base level that google finds you "amongst" the ranks when you start growing rapidly within impressions & then even though you are still far off from the top top guys, you are in the "game".

AND THEN....

You just start producing high-quality long-form rich content (images/videos/proper structuring) & Google will start triggering you more & more even though you aren't at the 40-50 DA yet while you are still in the 30's.

Does anyone have an idea on this?

ALSO - what strategies can you be used to leverage BL building at this point?

TIA!

Warm regards,

Scotty Z

Marketing or backlink is more important. If you have awesome content but you don't promote it hard, almost no one will know it. For example, if you spend 1 week writing a really good article, you should spend another 2 weeks or 3 weeks to promote it.

Getting people to your page is useless unless you have quality content that retains, converts or builds a following. Content will always be king in the long run. I usually do enough backlinking to ensure my content is in the game, then it generates its own backlink profile naturally over time if you spend the time and energy to do it right.

It's definately 80/20 content/backlinking for me. It pays off in the long run. It isn't all about search engines, content is what your audience wants, it's what will define you as a web author and it's what will build your authority. Do it right. You ARE your content.

This. Eventually people will share your links naturally. Without good content, peope will not share your posts.

Well both are equally important but Search engine can not measure content in terms of quality and baclinks are measurable. But this does not mean one thing is lesser than other.

Search engine can not measure content in terms of quality

Not so sure about that.

If your post is written in crappy english, Google will understand that and make your job harder.

It's 2019 and backlinks aren't the most important when the content is poorly written. Sure, you can build more links to compensate for the bad post but why would you go waste your precious time and money when you can just make your content good enough and rank easielly?

Backlinks are links that travel from another website to your website. They can come from social media sites and directories, but they most often come from blog posts and the content of other websites.

Just adjust your strategy based on what you're most experienced in. If building links is your strong suit, focus on building connections between those links and social hubs that will notice the content and most likely share it. If high quality content is your strong suit, consider finding niche-relevant bloggers who are looking for ghost writers for their content and guest posts. Often, if your site is in the same industry they will have no problem with you linking to your money site.

Both backlinks and content are equally important in their own way. Focus most of your time on the system that will output the best results for you.

Backlinking and content are kind of a chicken and egg situation. You could have the best marketing possible and it still wouldn’t help you if your content wasn’t good. And vice versa, your content could be amazing and it still wouldn’t matter if no one was reading it. That’s why SEO, in general, is so important. Just do a bit of both and you should be fine.

There are a lot of changes in the past 4 or 5 years in online market. Search engine is now more concerned about the spamming and is trying to eliminate all the spamming ways and criteria to connect more and more people genuinely.
Coming to the point, I think content is now more important than the backlinks. Though backlinks are important but not as important as the content originality. :alking in terms of percentage: content:backlinks :: 70:30

This one is good to know the best one between Backlinks Vs. Content. There are different ways to prove which one is better but as I understand the content is more important then Backlinks.

Some experts share their view of Backlinks & Content. They say... If the content is good, unique, relevant & long so if will much help to Boost then link but if a link is created on high authority site. If will give benefits but visitors will be back when they don't find he suitable content on the page even Google won't push up that page on SEP which don't have impressive content.

Content and backlinks are both important .you cannot get top rankings for a solid content without building backlinks.

Content is more important than backlinks and Google has mentioned this a couple of hundred times. While this is true you can't just slap some good content on a website and be done with it. Backlinks are still a valuable tool to get rankings even if Google doesn't like it that much. The last couple of updates, however, are centered around user experience. So, even with good backlinks and good content, your website might not rank well if you forget about the user experience.

Both are equally Important , backlinks is the goal, and content is the means through which you acquire the links.

Content is more important. People will share quality content with pleasure and you will get backlinks.

You need to have high quality content. Imagine promoting a site and getting lots of traffic then your audience never come back after the first time? Its because they came and didnt find anything of value. Your content will also determine if your traffic converts or not

Backlinks are important, but of what benefit is it if your site is full of low-quality content? You should promote your site with backlinks and other marketing strategies, but you must ensure your content is good enough to sustain whatever traffic that comes your way

backlinks are very important , you need to have unique content as well and promote the hell outta it

They are both important. But content ranks higher in my book as you need high quality content to get users to your site.
