Backlinks to Homepage or content page?

My strategy would be building Guest posts and niche edits

Go with more niche edits and some editorial (DA 80+ and 90+) posts to the home page to gain authority over my client's website

Then build guest posts to the inner pages (Targeting guest posts articles topics around main keywords in terms of relevancy)

After that, I would use PBNs as Tier 2 links to those Guest posts and niche edits links. (That way it increases its link juice)

What do you guys think about this?
Great. But do you think the PBNs are entirely necessary after building the guest posts?

Individual blog posts and home pages can benefit from backlinks, but their purposes are different. Backlinks are essential for building your website's authority and credibility on the home page. Individual blog posts can benefit from backlinks for driving referral traffic and increasing visibility.

It's not necessary, but we have noticed that tier links boost little more link juice and it helps with organic ranking

But it's upto every individuals

I've had some success building links to my homepage and it kinda worked and my DR is increased a bit.

Do i still need to build links to specific content pages on the website?

Or will having a High DR through homepage links effectively skyrocket the other content pages to the top?

Your answer is, yes it can if the on-page SEO was done at par with the standard.

if you are writing article on the low competitive keyword. you might not need to send link directly to your post. you can rank your article with the internal link. internal linking will also be consider as backlink.

Any link, regardless if it's leading to the home page or content page, helps to increase the overall authority of the site.

What you need to pay attention to when creating a link is that the page you are referring to is relevant to the page from which you are referring.

From my experience with building links on forums, if in a forum thread I have to mention the company, I'll link to their main page, but if there is a page with content that is more useful to the forum thread, then I will post a link to that page. I mean, I look at the problem through the lens of context and utility.

Building links to specific content pages helps optimize them for targeted keywords and increases their visibility in search engine results, even if your homepage has a high Domain Rating (DR).
