Does the content matter at a regarding backlinks? Is a pr8 backlink from a nonrelated site just as good as a pr8 backlink from a related site. Say britneyspears and bodybuilding both pr8 both backlink to my site, are they both just as good? Is the brittany spears one even relevant

Same juice from both.

But the niche related link may bring in traffic from that site.

both are same if there not relvent with contact you need get only backlinks
that it bro,but later they will change this police,if you can go for same kw that will advantage for get traffic also

I disagree with the above commments...

The google juice will flow and will help with your pagerank, but since the recent panda update - site authority on particular keywords is now very important.

Always try to get links from your niche.

I'd have to agree with posh and say that the link from the relevant site is worth a little more to Google than the unrelated site link. And the possibility of getting some targeted traffic from the site is nice too.

If you want to get good traffic you need some edu backlinks and some good page rank in your niche related.
