Backlinks only to the main page?

I have a few sites where I've had links going to sub pages with related keywords but now have one site where I only really have one page I can send links to (the main page). All the sub pages are about me, contact info etc. Will I struggle to rank if I send all the backlinks to the main page only or does it really matter?

In this case you are fine. But it was very good to do deep linking for your other sites that have additional content pages besides the main page..

Cheers Pete, I notice the sites rank quicker if I link to additional pages. This site isn't ranking at all but tbh there's very little content on it. Was gonna add 10 pages of content then keep building links to the main page. The other sites avoided the sandbox by linking to several pages too..

Add more content obviously but links to your main page should be fine in this case.

Thanks guys, that's what I'll do. It's my 3rd in line project so gonna write 1000 words a night and means I get the job done without sitting there eating my pencils
