    Hi there.

I´m from Brazil and i run some sites written only in portuguese. My doubt is how usefull should be for my serp if i get backlinks in sites written in another language ??

For example ... in a site about dentistry one of mine keywords is "tratamento de canal" wich means in english "root treatment" so if i make a comment in an english site using the keyword in portuguese it will be deleted since the moderators wont even understand what i mean. Also, if the site is of the same niche but written in a language wich is not portuguese how usefful should be the backlink if i comment in english using mine keyword in english?

Sorry for any grammar mistakes, and regards from Brazil.

    thank´s in advance

If you're trying to rank globally, then get backlinks from a variety of sources. If you're trying to rank locally (in Brazil), then get backlinks from country specific sites (i.e. Brazilian), for example, Brazilian .edu links or university sites/blogs with .br TLD.

Well, make the comment in English. If the comment is being moderated (i.e. needs approval), make the comment in whatever is the native language of the site.

I would get the links from other language sites too but in moderation. More focus in local links and less focus of other language links. This strategy has worked for me several times.

    Hi,

You get all the links that you can - try finding sources that allow posting Portugeese articles / text and after that, build links from all sites, even if they are in English. Every now and then, I build links for guys rom Germany, France, etc. and what I do is drrop their links in brackets and they stick quite well. For instance:

"I needed a root canal (tratamento de canal), but feared the pain and the
    procedure"

When you do that, the text will never get deleted. I hope this helps.
