Backlinks in forums

I was thinking making backlinks in forums that rank relatively high,will that make a difference? one post in each forum would be enough?
Lets say that i hide it really well inside the post so the mods wont see it,does that make a good SEO and index me higher?
Am not talking about sigs,only posts.

Forum backlinks are a tried and tested way of raising your serp position. However, you need to use other methods if you are to be sure of obtaining a good rank.

It's very easy for the Googlebot to identify forum links (as the url often has "forum" in it, for one), and as such, it may not value forum links a highly as links from other sources.

Read around the forum and learn to get backlinks from a wider range of sources.

"relevant" forum links are great just dont overdo it. You need to mx in other link sources.

of course backlinks from forums will do only good especially from high PR forums. Before 2 weeks I made 100 backlinks from PR7+ forums in profile pages and now see my website already gone up in rankings for few positions.

I cant see how youre gonna hide those links from mods dude. xrumer has a way using same color as txt but most of the time it doesnt work.

They are very cool as all the OP's have said but you must make them look like real,i.e make them have an avatar dont use a cooksucker user name us a good one,and use more brain to make them less spummy son and then ping them and rss them

I use a link on each forum im active in and it seems to work great... If you don't spam and actually use the forum you will get a lot of juice from those forums. (try posting on first page of threads that you think will be big)

just do the good ole smiley trick, you aint gonna get anchor text you want but a links a link. just put in a smiley, link it, and it looks like your average face

I can do it manually,just underline the surrounding text with same color the link gets.
Also most of the times i post a list of "scam sites" or a list of "helpful sites" and Lists in general(huge lists),you can find anywhere in the internet and putting links somewhere in between.
With the first method + the second i dont think it will be easy tracing the link.

I was wondering if you create multiple profiles on the same forum, and post the same URL's to each profile, will that help you out any or will it just count as "one link".

I think that they count backlinks once per domain name.So i don't think it will help in ranking you higher.
Its just a thought,am not expert (yet) at SEO.
