I'm wondering if I publish an article/guest post on sites.google.com and linking to my money site will gain any authority or relevancy for ranking purposes?

If so, can someone please recommend some good web2.0s such as wordpress.org or blogspot...

I would recommend guest post for rankings than web 2.0, if you want web 2.0 blogs kindly post the requirement over wtb or haf.

It can help. But the effect will be very modest. And you really need a lot of good juicy links first of all.
