I have seen that some people are able to get backlinks from the photo sharing site Imgur.com like this one

I tried to do it myself, I uploaded a photo with description and post a link but it always filters the URL by putting spaces around the dot so it would read as Google . com and therefore it isn't clickable.
I even tried copy and pasting their description into my post but their links then get filtered and become unclickable.
Anyone know how to get these links to work or do these posters know of a unpublished backdoor to create them which is not available from the main site?
