Sites who have backlinks from porn sites "penalized" because of low TF of porn sites in general or are there any other reasons?

Adult sites and adult links will always affect rankings. If your site is adult-themed then you'd want adult links though.

Adult is adult, except if you are high authority site. I had a health site which was linked from a adult forum and that link still exists. But it never affected rankings. Link existence is now reaching 6 yrs. Plus the link was from a related thread though the forum was explixitly adult.

I've never heard of links from adult sites getting anyone blacklisted but think about what they say about your site to Google. A site linked to from numerous adult sites would seem likely to have adult content and could be treated by filtering as a result. Adult sites and the adult industry online has lots of issues with spam and other issues which could certainly result in you getting penalized if a list of "bad" sites linked to you.

It totally depends on your site and content category you have.

Irrelevant low quality links from irrelevant niches will always lead to trouble.

But what about a very relevant sister adult niche pointing to a sister non adult niche with TF 35+ (pretty good for a porn site ^^).
