Backlinks don't register... ever

So, I've spent a good deal of time over the past 6 months building backlinks to one of my sites and no new backlinks are EVER registered. It is as if any link that gets directed to my website immediately gets scrubbed. I started building links the old fashioned way (by hand) and did lots of article submissions, web 2.0 properties, etc, and those didn't show up despite verifying the pages were indexed so I moved to SENuke in an attempt to hopefully push harder and get more links to see some of them show up... over the course of about 3-4 months with SENuke, I didn't see a single backlink register despite indexing thousands of pages with the backlinks. Finally, in the past 3 weeks or so, I've been giving a go with scrapebox -- I even purchased a scrapebox package of links here in BHW -- and I STILL can't get any new backlinks to show up to my website!

I'm at a loss for what the problem is and why my website can't get any backlinks to register. My positions in the serps is completely stagnant (mild fluctuations but nothing indicative of the "google dance" or anything else) and every single program that I use to check backlinks shows absolutely no change.

What do you mean with "backlink registration"?

You build them and that's it. If they have an impact on your ranking for a specific, your site ranks higher, if they are useless backlinks, nothing happens.

I mean they don't show up as existing. Not in yahoo site explorer, not in majestic, not anywhere. They should be shown to exist and link to my site when the pages that they're on are indexed. NONE of them have an impact AT ALL. Ever. Not 10,000 links, not good links, not anything. It is as if my site does not exist and any links that are directed towards it are considered non-existent.

I would use seomoz backlink checking tool. Sometimes it takes some time to get them indexed, but I think you should pay more attention to where they are linking to, I mean whether your content is relevant and unique. Sooner or later backlinks will show up.

Tell me about the domain..

Its you registered first time?
If you registered it, did you checked it is dropped or not?
You bought this domain from some other person?

I was the first person to register it, I've had it for years, and once upon a time there was no problem generating backlinks.

PM me your domain URL, are you even sure your checking for backlinks correctly? Having no backlinks show up at all over 6 months is seriously weird.

Yes, I'm sure. I agree that it is seriously weird. I went through each and every one in my backlinks (a very limited number) and I have found a handful that have been indexed over the past 6 months. With that said 10/100,000 is not exactly a very impressive result, especially considering that I've found at least 2,000 pages that I KNOW are indexed with the links on them.

Did you definitely get the URL right? I know it sounds silly but I think we've all done it before (just not for 6 months).

Do you write your url with w ww? I mean hxxp://w ww. or hxxp://site ?

By the way i have the same problem, but not 6 months. My site is indexed, not in top 1000 in google, 5 page in yahoo.

i have the same problem to my new site, its not showing any back links despite the fact that I manually build every one of them...urls are correct..

just post your website so everyone can help you. If you already lost 6 months, what's wrong with us knowing it.

My first initial thought was the www . and non www . problem and you've been building links to one of them but checking the other (in case you didnt' 301 redirect the non www to the www .)

Yep, this is most likely the problem.
