Backlinks being indexed question ? -=O

Ok so lets say you create a profile with your link in it somewhere....Well the profile you create is technically a new page/url etc.... ok so now you do a test and see that your new profile page is indexed in go0gle, does this mean that your link/backlink in that profile page was accounted for (crawled), or it (the backlink) will be soon enough, or something else.... any input greatly appreciated

If the site is indexed it means google has seen the backlink, what it then does with the backlink is anyones guess, it could take a few more days for it to use that backlink to determine your search position better.
 
should I wait for my site to be indexed first before promoting backlinks or start immediately?
