Backlinks and keywords?

Let's say I bombed the hell out of backpage with my links. Will it help my google ranking? And say my site sells cookies but my links r not cookies com. When someone searches cookies how will google know to show my site. Is it based on meta tags or just simply having cookies on my site for sale (obviously in the product description).

Try to get backlinks on pr5 sites and above. There some people in the service
section who offer services for that.
