I have searched and cannot find anything to answer my question, so I figured I would ask for advice.

So, I have the opportunity to build backlinks on a legit local job board. The site has 15 dedicated city pages and averages about 190 new job listings per month, that have a life span of 30-60 days depending on package purchased, so these links will be deleted once the job placement has expired.

My site is employment related affiliate site, has keyword rich domain name, and is about 8 months old with some foundational links (branded/naked links).

Should I link on city pages only or job listings or are both ok? Would 190ish temporary links per month be a bad thing due to too much activity with links constantly dropping and new ones being added?

Also, since my domain is keyword rich (not exact match, but more like buybluewidgets.com ), am I ok to use exact match anchor on some of the links or should I use branded links since the keyword is in the domain? I want to avoid over optimization.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Focus on linking primarily on city pages for stability, with some links on job listings for targeted relevance. Use a mix of branded and exact match anchors, favoring branded links to avoid over-optimization while leveraging your keyword-rich domain name.

It’s better to link from city pages since they last longer than job listings. Use a mix of branded and exact-match anchors to keep things natural and avoid over-optimization. Too many temporary links can look suspicious, so focus on a steady, balanced approach.

Building backlinks to the job listing pages will give you a temporary boost and once the listings are removed, the value of the links will be dropped. You can focus on adding links to the city pages and use exact match, branded, naked, & generic anchors to avoid over optimization.

it's a good idea to focus more on the city pages since they offer more permanence compared to job listings that eventually expire. This way, your backlinks have a longer-lasting impact. As for anchor text, even though your domain is keyword-rich, it's wise to mix things up. Use a combination of exact match, branded, and natural variations to keep your link profile diverse and avoid any risks of over-optimization. And while temporary links can add some value, it's better to focus on a steady, long-term strategy that doesn't rely too much on links that will disappear.

You should focus on linking from the city pages for stability, use branded or naked URLs to avoid over-optimization, and limit the exact match anchors to avoid negative impacts from the temporary nature of job listing links.

Build backlinks from reputable, relevant websites to boost your site's authority and improve rankings. Use clear, descriptive anchor text that naturally fits the content and includes keywords when appropriate.

You can use the job board as an option, and also build backlinks from relevant and authoritative sources that can give more power to your link profile for a long time than those listings.

Use a mix of exact, secondary, brand, and generic anchors for better diversity.

I would recommend you mix up the keywords while building links, focusing on exact match anchors won't benefit long term. Adding more links to city pages could help you better with over all traffic.

Link on both city pages and job listings, but be mindful of temporary links. Mix branded and partial match anchors to avoid over-optimization. Consider adding more permanent links for balance

Here's what I think, targeting city pages for long-term brand mentions and some job listings for a keyword boost is a good strategy. 190 links are a lot, but as long as they're spread naturally and the site itself is legit, it shouldn't be problem. As for anchors, branded links are always safe, but a few exact-match ones sprinkled shouldn't hurt, since your keywords rich domain is already doing the heavy lifting. The key is to build natural link profile.

For a long-term strategy, focusing on city-specific pages can be highly effective. By creating informative and valuable content on these pages, you can boost your rankings. Use exact, long-tail, and brand anchors. Mix up both job listings and city pages to get a better result.

For effective backlink strategy, focus on acquiring links from reputable and relevant websites to boost your site's authority. Diversify your backlink sources to include various domains, which helps with credibility and SEO. Use descriptive and keyword-rich anchor text that accurately reflects the linked content, but avoid over-optimization. Natural, high-quality backlinks should come from valuable content and genuine engagement rather than manipulative practices.
