Backlinking your Citations

Can anyone please tell what is citation and GSA in context for non native english people?

Google is not helping with this, still confused.

Thank you.

Is your map pack full of very established older companies BTW? In these cases it can be a hard slog to prove to Google you're worthy of a top spot. I work in an industry with many companies that have been in existance for 20+ years - it's difficult sometimes to compete with them.

The only thing I can say it keep doing what you're doing. Slow and steady progress almost always wins in the end.
Thanks..yeah we are in competition with old companies. Landscaping and the like. Been around prolly 10-15 years or more.

How important is it to backlink your citations?

I saw an option on 7th Amigo to backlink your citations (adding Tier 2 (Web 2.0 Blogs))
I always do. It adds real life value which google likes. But that's just my best guess

Powering up citations used to be my go-to for better organic rankings (local business websites).

To be fair, most citation links aren't powerful on their own so a 2nd tier is always nice if you have the resources for it.
never heard anyone talking about powering citations as tier 2 interesting!

There used to be a service that did exactly this. I forget the name of the service but the sales pitch was it being white hat and black hat link building put together. In actuality it was just popular citation links powered by extensive tier 2 links.

Linking to your backlinks is what is taught as "tier link building", so yea it has some repercussions, though, positive :)

I'm a little confused and just want to check what you mean by backlinking citations.

So, you create a citation somewhere, say localcitationsite.com then you create Web 2.0s and link directly to the citation page, e:g: localcitationsite.com/mybusiness/ ?

Yes, you got that right. This is also referred to Tier 2 links.
