What kind of weight would .mil site backlinks carry? Would they be like .gov or more like .com?

Well they are hard to get, and anything that's hard to get will be valued more in the eyes of search engines.

.mil are solid backlinks and very hard to come by, just like .gov's.

Remember though that the weight that these provide aren't because its a .MIL but rather its because they are from a domain with amazing backlinks and authority.

Thats why they are truly powerful.
