what do you use for your site?

Is web 2.0s, pbns, forum commenting, blog comments and guest posts all you need?

I have seen tons of ways to generate links like directories, infographics, video sharing, image sharing and press releases etc. But Time is limited so I dont want to waste it.

So what is the essential link building i need to do to bank and rank? Yes it takes time and hard work, but where?

Guest posts are the most effective ones..bht one must be careful in choosing the site for linking..it must be relevant , spam free ( or less) . Blog commenting also works..

Blog commenting doesn't work for link building. Most of the blogs provide no-follow links and the least amount of blogs that do provide a do-follow link passes link juice almost equaling to zero.

But are they worth the time to create diversity tho? Or is it just a waste overall?

Look if you want you can do it, its your choice. I don't do it, never. Yeah, may be one comment in one year or so, if I am not feeling lazy.
 
best backlink methods are guest posting , blog commenting, forum submissions and Social book marking.try to get backlinks from higher DA sites and relevent sites.

Apart from guest posting everything else you suggested are more or less obsolete.
 
you can try going for tier backlink building for the maximium power for each tier 1 link

tier 1 - Guest post / High DA PBN (manual written content)
teir 2 - cheap PBN (spin content) / image / video sharing
tier 3 - bookmarks / blog comments

Yes, I get that.. Though it might not be as effective as Guest posting. But it also adds upto something. So it is better to try them rather than neglecting it. One needs all the help when it comes to link building.
 
please ignore the comments made about blog comments as being no-follow. you getting a no-follow blog comment backlink where the author approves and is niche relevant means a lot and does have a positive impact on serp. when there is an approval process, than you are set to go. you dont have to worry about your link being in non-relevant OBLs.
 
you take all step by step it will looks natural and rank you with white hat technique

pbns and blog comments are so 2014; you should focus only on guest posts (high quality) forum commenting as long as they are not bots, and post top content in your website regularly.
 
First of all focus on quality content if your time is limited
- Start with guest blogging 2 articles a week (atleast)
- articles , Ppt , pdf submission (there are limited sites but they index link more )
- if you're facing lack of content for ppt or pdf spin some content (not everytime)
- getting signature from forums.(should look like natural and forums should be relevant with active users)

Sounds good, i have a lot of content.

Need links now + a litle more content. But should be seeing more than 100 visitors a month from a 6 month old site with 45 articles.

Will do some guestblogging, pbns and nicheedits.

10 diversity for each pbn link
100 social signals pre pbn link to site
