Backlinking directly to kindle sales page?

Hello, I recently published a book on kindle and i was wondering if anyone knows:

1)Can you actually create backlinks that point directly to the sales URL on amazon? Is this against TOS?
2)If not against TOS, is this a legitimate strategy for ranking in SERPS? Or should I go the old way of ezine articles, etc...

You can create as many backlinks as you want, Amazon has enough traffic and PR so google will not penalize it. It is not against Amazon TOS to send traffic to your book listing. Focus your backlinks on your main keywords and also traffic from relevant forums related to your topic. However is not a good idea to abuse this since your time could be better spent creating an author portal, blog and producing high quality books. A well created and informative book will bring you more money than 50 mediocre ones. Remember you are dealing with real readers here and you don't want not even one bad review since that will be enough to kill your sales.
