Hi,
would like some advice for a backlink strategy to adopt in this particular case.

My portuguese real estate company is already on page 1 of google.pt for several keywords, but is still under their major local competitors and the goal here is getting their website climb from 5 to 8th position to the top 3.

Which link strategy would you recommend to this particular case?
Thank you all in advance for sharing your knowledge / experience that can be useful in this particular case.

Copy the links of your main competitors.

As already stated, being aware of the practices of your competitors is one of the key to success, but this is very basic and sometimes you won't be able to be 100% aware of their practices because certain linkbuilding strategies are being done hideously from the classic inspection tools like Ahrefs

So eventually, you should be learning about linkbuilding strategies in general, which include PBN, tiering, parasiting, etc... all widely covered in this forum, moreover, in this subforum you have posted.

Looks like my customer nor the competitors don't have a link strategy and the hundreds of backlinks that they all have are coming naturally from social media, local sites that reference their service, newspaper news, etc.
No backlinks were built from pbn, guest posting, parasite web 2.0 blogs....
Everything so far was just gathered from google from other places referring to these websites ( I'm talking in a specific country, a specific niche and a particular town that have only about 5 keywords worth of traffic).

Now, that's the serps results so far. Without doing nothing :)
My goal is, what safe strategy can I do to beat them without being penalized by big G.
This should be "easy" for US/Uk, English spoken, on Real Estate, on a 50.000/hab coast city)
But for Portugal, portuguese, same niche, same kind of city.... does the "normal" strategies work? I mean High DA PBN Guest Posts, Web 2.0 blogs, etc, etc.

That's my main doubt. Is there a "local" strategy or the "general" ones will work also, even if they are in English?
Thanks for all your help.

Probably you should buy organic traffic which is still the #1 factor in Google's eyes. If you build links, then don't overdo it and buy only quality links.

Their strategy seems to work if they rank.
So do the same... natural social media shares and local sites.

Copy the links of your main competitors.
That is a good idea.
But I assume not links are displayed by different analytic tools and programs.
Big part of such links will remain impossible to discover.

Check your keyword competition and competitor research.
Build a quality backlinks in PBN, Guest posting, Broken link building, Press Release and Testimonial
Use Outbound links
Site architecture and navigation
Take advantage of Social Share
Create and link associated Instagram profile, YouTube channel, LinkedIn profile, Facebook Page and Twitter profile,
Add Facebook Open Graph Tags,
Add Twitter Cards,,
Also, take advantage of email marketing and Outreach marketing.

I would recommended a 2 part strategy:

(1) Relevant News Articles with Back-links + (2) Reddit/Facebook Influencing

1)
The relevant news articles will keep a small trickle of traffic going to site while while also giving you the push upward in SERPS. The traffic going to your site, if retained, will also give additional signals to google that you're valuable in search.

Be mindful of how articles are done though. Only link to relevant sources to content discussed.

2)
Social media is important today. Regardless of what people think, if you're not mentioned in social media your brand is not as 'relevant' in Google's eyes and normally places you as 'less preferred' compared to those who are

Also, you want to create original images. This helps in Google image search!

Relevant links are the key. Plus make sure your website is lightning fast and has a low bounce rate.

I agree with the previous suggestion of reverse-engineering your competitors’ links.

But here’s the problem: if you just copy their link inventory, the best you could hope for is to come in right under them.

You have to come up with links that they can’t get

It is that basic; but, just because it’s that simple, doesn’t mean it’s easy.

You have to understand that the more editorial hoops that you have go through and the more hurdles that you have to clear, the better off you will be.

Why?

Most of your competitors don’t have the time, patience, or resources to go through all of that.

So, they would focus on easier-to-get backlinks.

This is where you come in.

Are there any real estate powerhouse authoritative sites in Portugal that you can get links from?

Are there big real estate companies and developments that have well-established websites that you strike a partnership with?

Stop thinking of link building as a process that you have to do on your own.

Instead, look at it as business development or public relations.

Once you start changing your overall perception of link building, you will start to produce higher quality links that your competitors would have a tough time replicating.

You need to get that backlink from mybluemix and put in canonical tag your target website.
Send me a PM and I'll show you what I did.

Study your competitors backlinks profile and copy what they are doing.

More information. That's a big case named SEO. You should check all the factors before spending money for different content or links.
1) Analysis.
2) Realization.

As said earlier go to your competitors and copy their link, works good enough.

Thank you all for your tips.
Trying to implement some suggested.
