Also, why only 1 link in tier 1, and why precisely 500k monthly traffic ?? This is so random lol
If you're going to point that link to a page that targets a very tough keyword in a very tough niche I doubt that 1 link will cut it, you might need 5-10 or even more of those DR 70+ links... and that's assuming that all other things are in place too, which you didn't mention, such as:
- how topically relevant the link (and the page where the link comes from) is to the page you point it to...
- how clean and trustworthy the site you get the link from is in google's eyes (although - generally speaking - if a site's DR is genuine, we can assume that the site is legit)
Tier 2 | 5 links | DR 30-70+ guest posts, all real sites with 10k+ monthly traffic
if the guest posts are good I would use them as tier 1, I feel like whoever came up with this plan has a lot of money to waste on SEO because quality guest posts are expensive (in what I'm concerned at least) and if you're going to pay through your nose for quality guest posts you might as well use them as tier 1 links.
Anyway, these are just considerations that I would follow as a general guideline, but like I said, it will eventually depend on what you're up against and on what your site's status is with regards to optimization, authority and trust that google has in it. Because if your site is fresh as a newborn baby and google doesn't even know exists that DR 70+ link will probably hardly matter...
