Backlink seller methods

I always asked myself where backlink sellers get their backlinks from. Most of them problem have a big portfolio of own websites, or have access to websites. Through connections with other seller they can exchange backlinks etc. But there was this one post in the wanted to buy thread, where someone wanted to get backlinks from 3 specific websites. 20+ backlink sellers answered they could provide him with backlinks from these websites. How is that even possible, I highly doubt they all have writing rights for the websites. Is it just simply outreach to the owner of the website? But how can they know it will be successful? Or is something shady going on behind the scenes aka. "hacking"?

Most backlinks like that are parts of many vendor lists.

Some have direct access and deal with owner. Others resell.
 
Would you happen to know how and where to get vendors lists like that? What would hinder someone to get backlinks on their own from these lists except the lack of information in that regard?

You can usually find them on forums like this one of FB groups.

You can contact the site owners and make your own deal, yes. But you don't have doors open. It's much easier via 3rd party.

Are you sure you need such backlinks from such sites?
I looked at some sites that offer in FB
It is better to buy backlinks from forums, catalogs, etc.
 
Some backlink sellers have established relationships with website owners or content managers where they can request and secure guest post
