I've been reading around the forum and i've noticed that sum of you dont take relevance into account when posting backlinks and just post them on sites that dont correlate at all with your sites.

Does google notice this going on? I read somewhere that posting backlinks with no relevance to your page decreases your page rank?

Is this true?

I believe that it would be unusual for a non-relevant backlink to hurt you. There has been a pretty good debate about this at the WF and lots of people are getting decent results with backlinks that aren't relevant, thus the immense popularity of profile backlinks.

well thats good to know.:D i was wondering about the use of xrumer bcuz i knew that it couldnt know what pages were relevant enought to post on.

Yea, all backlinks are good imo, the relevant ones are just better. xrumer works kinda weird because alot of the links you get with xrumer will get deleted, and google doesn't like sites with high link turnover.

As someone who use xrumer successfully, I will say "backlink relevance" is one of the biggest rip-off myths to be created by whitehats.

Think about this, most websites online ranking have majority of non-related backlinks.

The main question to always ask yourself is "could a competitor hurt my site by doing this?" if the answer is YES then it can't be bad for your site. Google and the other search engines wouldn't and couldn't allow it or people would spend all their time damaging there competition and the internet wouldn't be tha amazing tool it is.;)

Nah, any links are good links though I am not so sure about backlinks from adult sites.

I have experienced before a competitor pointing adult links at one of my sites and the site got knock out of google! :(

Actually I agree there are some backlinks which are not goog ie porn etc so I stand corrected. I beleive there is a site called bad neighbourhood which can tell you if a site could be bad for your domain if you were to link to it. Hope this helps:)
