Hello,

I was browsing expiredomains and checked for domains. I was thinking of buying expired ones for BL building.

I came across this one and missed it since I was thinking I’ll buy it tomorrow when I wake up. Surprise it was taken this morning.

It was a .com domain and the Wayback Maschine looked great, no spam, no scams everything looked good.

The question now is, did I miss something special ? It would have cost me $12 to renew…

I’m just getting started with SEO so don’t blame me… advices of any kind are appreciated.

Cheers

With 491 backlinks and a DP (Domain Pop) of 3.3K, that’s pretty decent authority for a $12 grab. MMGR at 764.7K also hints at some real traffic potential or at least past visibility.

Next time, if it checks out clean (Wayback, backlink profile, no spam), don’t wait buy it right away. Good domains go fast, especially ones like this that stand out. Keep hunting though, there are always more gems out there.

I don't remember what those numbers mean, but I would have probably spent $12 for 491 backlinks....

Anyway, keep searching and you'll find other domains for sure as new ones come in every hour.... possibly every minute :)

Alright thanks, I missed a good deal I assume.. I was kinda pissed in the morning ngl :P

I found domains with millions of BL but nearly 0 DP. Those ones are used for spam and probably aren’t good for listing your “good” sites.

Totally feel you, bro missing one always stings :D But take it as a lesson, you’ll spot and grab the next gem even quicker.

I’ll take it as a lesson for sure. May you send me a DM? I’ll have some questions I would like to ask you if I get back home tomorrow :) I’m happy to share my new tool afterwards you might answered some questions from an expert. :)

Just be careful with which provider you consult the domain. If you search on GoDaddy and have very good metrics, the GoDaddy bot automatically registers it.

Can you name some providers? I was thinking of namecheap.

There's a negligible chance that you would find a good expired domain with such a number of good links randomly available,
Most of the good domains would be passed to auctions before expiring,
And tons of scrapers would drop catch any least decent domain a few milliseconds after it would expire,

So, you missed nothing, it's most likely some random domain with a spammy or/and useless link profile that someone else picked up,
If you want to get good domains to build as a PBN for good price, your best bet would be to bid on the right ones,
And sometimes you can get a few for a decent price (low value/price), which is rarely the case

I mean probably I should have spent the $12 and try it wouldn’t have been a big loss of money and a chance :D

Here's the thing, you'll find similar ones if you keep checking out once in a while,
You can spend the money to buy it and build a website on top of it, but it will be useless,
Since you're getting opposite comments/opinions here, go for it, test and find out, it's a tiny investment for the sake of experience ^^

Okay, thanks for your advice. I’m just getting started and taking every advice I can take. I just need to figure out what’s helpful and what isn’t. :P

Super helpful as I'm still learning all this. Appreciate the insights

I also once missed a good domain.
It's good that a few days later I managed to buy an even better one.
Don't be upset, maybe it's for the best.
