So, basically i was trying to build some linkjuice to my whitehat blog. I visited a rather huge blog and left about 3 or 4 backlinks in different posts.

I really did not want to over do it.

It is now 5 days later and I now have 130 backlinks from that blog! What is up with that?

I did not create any more backlinks, but I keep getting linkjuice from that blog for every day that passes from posts I never touched.

If I use Yahoo site explorer and check a random backlink, 95% of the pages there don't contain a link to my site...

Please enlighten me BHW.

are you sure they are all from the same blog? that is wierd i honestly dont know..

They all come from the same blog.. I shouldn't complain, but i think the backlinks are appearing too fast. If this keeps on, I will have about 300 backlinks next week. If the linkjuice increases exponential, I will probally have thousands of backlinks in a few weeks.

If their blog is set up with different categories and tags, the spiders may see multiple links because it looks like separate posts.

Will that decrease the backlink value?

I have seen this debated heavily. From what I understand it can decrease the backlink values slightly, but it is still better than not having the link.

The blog must be using the Recent comments plugin

If they display "Latest Comments", then that could be your reasoning.

Without knowing the blog you commented on it's not possible to give a definite answer. Please provide the url and I'll check it for you.

Hmmm.. This is starting to get out of hand.

500 more backlinks in one week. Will I gain or lose SERP from this phenomenon? Can't wait for a re-index to see the effect.

The blog I commented on is
macapper dot com

The link juice will just be valued less. I suggest you build links from other sites otherwise having links only coming from one site is just screaming out spam.. lol
I think if you have other link sources as well you should be fine

I have some other backlinks too, but the ratio must be something like 1:50. Can't really keep up with that when the links are increasing exponentially(ish).

I would stop it if there was a way.

That's quite strange.. I don't understand how it's possible for your backlinks to be increasing automatically. The only explanation could be that they have the 'recent comments' displayed on each page, and your comments are still showing since it's probably still one of the last 10 comments. If thats the case then don't worry about it.. eventually your comments will be off the recent comments.

Have a look at the pages where the links are coming from, check where it is on the page... is it form the recent comments?

That's not good you posted the url of the blog. It will be soon spammed to hell by our forum members.

I couldn't care less. If you guys want lots of low value, spammy backlinks, then go ahead.

I couldn't reproduce this phenomenon with other sites I own though.

My links are nowhere to be found when I check my inlinks with YSE. How long does it take before inlinks dissapear from Site Explorer when the link is gone?

I expect the backlinks to stop increasing after a while, then start to decrease. Then it's the sandbox for me I guess.
