If you have a backlink on a 2.0 site like Squidoo with your keywords in the anchor text does it matter what the content on the lens is? I have heard that the content on the site must be relevant or the backlink is worthless? Is there any truth to that? Im no expert but I would think as long as your anchor text is relevant that is all that should matter? Am I wrong?
The link is not worthless but, yes, it does weight more if the content is similar to that on the page you're linking to.
I was told that Squidoo and HubPages are more for getting your site indexed and getting traffic. I never put up pages there for links.
Well yes that is true but you might as well get some quality backlinks as well. Squidoo even has a module specifically for links. The point is, if I decide to do a different Niche would it be a good idea to include backlinks to another Niche thats really not relevant. Not necessarily for the traffic it will bring but just for an additional backlink.
I know Hubpages have a lot of editors and people that will flag your material if they deem it irrelevant. Squidoo, im not so sure, they are a little more laxed i believe
