backlink indexing with url shorter | good or bad method? (2020)

Hi folks!

I would like to cloak my backlink by using URL Shorter like https://bitly.com/ and then I would like to post it in a small Facebook group up to approx. 300 users.

What do you think about this? Is this a good option to index the backlink?

I know that backlink indexing has been discussed a lot here. I couldn't find an answer with the search function.

Why cloak your links? Are they affiliate links? IMHO you'd be better served running a genuinely helpful site - then link directly to pages on it that answer questions properly.

That way, links are far less likely to be removed and you'll find yourself eventually becoming something of an authority in your niche - the holy grail. I know Matthew Woodward is somewhat frowned up here; however, he did do some very good early posts on his blog about setting up a website with this precise aim - building authority by offering value and applying links to forums/social media where it's helpful.

At any rate, i'm 99% sure bitly et al is banned now on Facebook - it's not the way to go.
