It's a trusted site, but it really depends on which page indexed you. If it's on a profile or off a comment section, it's devalued compared to an in-content link. Similarly, is the page highly trafficked / linked to ? That'll determine some of the value as well.

    Thanks for the reply.
    It was from huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/04/article.html
My link is there in plain sight, under TOP LINKS ON THIS TOPIC.
I don't even know how it got there.

    WHat's the page PR?

Are you getting any visitors from that page?

Where were you checking your backlinks? Yahoo?

I use bluebacklinks. my page PR ? as of now it is 0/10 but in the next update, I think I will get 1 or 2/10. Only whitehat methods. Just a simple blog though but original articles. huffington article page ? 8/10. and I didn't really notice any visitors from that page.
For privacy reasons, I did not post the full URL

Yes, Indeed it looks like it came from Twitter. Good/bad ?

Then do one thing, check your links in Yahoo Site Explorer, and see if it also has the same article link or not.

Hmm, weird. It does not have the same link that it was showing from bluebacklinks. It also has 1/3 less backlinks when checking with Yahoo Site Explorer.

Well that's because some sites can't see those links. The site you used, might be counting temporary tweets as well.
