backlink expired web 2.0: single backlink from post VS. sidebar backlink

interested to know your guys take on getting backlinks from expired web 2.0.

Which one is more powerful,
[1] getting a single backlink to your money site from a post that is pinned to the first page OR
[2] creating a paragraph about your moneysite on the side bar and have a backlink from it to your money site; meaning that every page and/or post on this expired web 2.0, will have this sidebar, resulting in many backlinks

I prefer to use a combination of both, as diversity is key, but if you're talking about a one-off I'd go with [1].

Put the link in a post on the expired web 2.0 and add the post as featured on sidebar

can you elaborate please? you mean have the post title be visible on the side bar of all posts OR the actual post become visible on the sidebar of all posts?
