Backlink check of a closed-site?

Is there a way to check the backlinks profile of a domain which is not used anymore? I mean it's now available on GoDaddy but I first wanna check the backlinks it had during its life.
I do have Ahrefs if it's of use.

Yes. You can enter the domain into Ahrefs to see the backlinks pointing to it, even if the domain has expired.

How long have it been inactive does not really matter for this.
Just use ahref domain checker. It's free.

Ahrefs will show you links they still crawl, so only current links to the expired domain. If that's what you want, then Ahrefs.

If you want a historic link profile, no tool will do that, except Google probably has this info somewhere (not available to us).
