I was looking for new keywords with my micro niche finder and I have seen something that I dont understand.

Anyway, I have found 1 keyword phrase with not to many competitors. When I have taken a look at number 1 site on G I have seen that that site has about 900 backlinks. About 890 from one blog because it is in "BlogRoll". Link is on every page.

Now, I ask myself and you guys, how much those backlinks worth to big G if they are all just from 1 blog?

Does that means, if I build 1 blog with 1000 pages and put link to my site, that my site is going to be on No1 spot in no time because of 1000 backlins ?

Just don't know what to think...

no it means that those backlinks aren't worth all that much. you could get 10 backlinks from different sources and beat his 1000 from the 1 blogroll

Nobody really knows the answer to this, but it's fairly certain that "blogroll" style backlinks are of limited value.

My personal estimate is that a blogroll link from 500 pages of the same domain is as good as about 4 regular backlinks.

I would rather have 5 backlinks from diverse IPs than 500 backlinks from the same domain. PR obviously changes the equation on either side, you should be able to work out how.

That is just what I wanted to know. Thank you guys for quick answers :D

This is a the best answer you will probably get.

One thing about asking these kind of questions is it is hard to give the perfect answer, without knowing the exact information.

Is the keyword in the sites domain? Is it in the title? Can you purchase the keyword domain?

There is a lot more that goes into SEO then just backlinks.

I have an EMD that is competing with a guy who uses mostly blogroll links and I'm findng it not so easy to beat him. He's a member of the keyword academy so they most likely put him in a blogroll that is all pr2 because that is his pr. I think it will just take a little more time to build links though, then I can take the #1 spot. He also has an extra word after his keyword domain...
